When I have the tank on the cart filled I can water the 4 ft. tubes. I thought your setup would hold more than a gallon. Must have messed up on my figures. : ) …..Donald

The unit holds almost a gallon of water and it takes between 15-20 minutes to drain out. Because it is 2′ tall…you could drive by and fill with your golf cart and water tank! I also drilled several 1/64 holes in the cap for air flow. The total cost of mine is $3.50 ea. I appreciate all your videos!

Donald, Thank you for the idea. I went to buy material to make some of these. I ended up using 3″ sewer and drain pipe with a 3″ Test Caps in each end. The pipe was $10.48 per 10′ joint and the test caps were 0.70cents each. I cut the bell off the pipe and then cut the pipe to 23 1/4 inches. One joint of pipe makes 5 tubes.Because the test caps don’t fit tightly in the S&D pipe I glued it really good on one end. The cap at the other serves as a cap. I drilled the 1/64 hole 2″ from bottom.

That really depends on the weather, your soil, how long since the last rain, the heat and drying conditions etc. If in a dry spell, every 1-2 days…..Donald

It sure can. For a newly planted tree it would work well the first year or so…….Donald

that is awesome–can this be used for any thirsty plant or tree?

… Bugs will cause em to clog up. I have to clean mine out every 2-3 weeks depending on the season……Donald

I could not even find a 1/64 bit. I drilled a 1/16 hole and it keeps getting clogged and is not working correctly. !/64 is like a human hair.

… Tomatoes need moisture and this puts it right into the root zone, not on the foliage so I really don’t see you having any problems with it……Donald

Like your videos and am learning a lot. I live in the Dominican Republic. Would this work here? Or would the comb. sun and moisture damage the plant? Brenda, Las Terrenas, Dom. Rep.
